Village News

Somerleyton and Blundeston Cricket Club will be fundraising at the Somerleyton Fete on 7th july 2018, on the village green.

We run a stall with a tombola for adults and children where they can win bottles, jars and toys. The clubs stand is also famous for our cakes (sold per slice), savouries and Indian cooking.

Any runds raised by Somerleyton Cricket Club will be matched by Barclays Bank, making this one of the most important events of the year for us.

Come along to enjoy a wonderful and varied village fete in fantastic surroundings. If you have any non perishable goods or baking you might want to contribute then please contact the club.

UPDATE: Thanks to all those who donated goods or their time on the day and to those who attended the fete. We raised a total of £800 including a 'matched funding' of £400 from Barclays Bank.

Blundeston and Somerleyton Cricket Club was formed in 1999 as a junior cricket club to cater for a small group of U10 juniors to encourage the interest they had in the game whilst developing interpersonal skills at a young age in a fun learning environment.

In 2013 we were again awarded “Clubmark” status by the England and Wales Cricket Board.

The club developed to have mixed sex Junior teams at recognised age group levels of U10, U11, U13 and U15 and have players, both past and present, who have represented either Norfolk or Suffolk at a variety of age groups,  including girls who have gone on to achieve County honours.

We aim to offer players of all ages and abilities an opportunity to enjoy the game of cricket in a friendly atmosphere, be involved in competitive cricket as well as being part of a growing club with all the social benefits such participation includes.
